Microsoft Windows 11 Versions 21H2 and 22H2 to Lose support soon

TapTechNews July 9th news, Microsoft Windows 11 is about to celebrate its third birthday, which means the initial version 21H2 and the first feature update version 22H2 will soon lose support. Referring to the notice recently released by Microsoft, Microsoft warns that these two versions only have 90 days of lifecycle support left, and after that Windows 11 21H2 and 22H2 can no longer receive security updates.

However, currently Windows 11 21H2 no longer supports regular consumers (home/professional editions), and the only version still being updated is the enterprise edition, education edition, and IoT enterprise edition. And for 22H2, Microsoft plans to end the update for the home and professional editions on October 8th.

On October 8th, 2024, Windows 11 versions 21H2 (enterprise, education, and IoT enterprise editions) and version 22H2 (home and professional editions) will end service. The upcoming October 2024 security update will be the last update for this series of versions. After this date, devices running these versions will no longer receive the latest monthly security and preview updates.

TapTechNews queried Microsoft's Windows lifecycle documentation and learned that the current mainstream version 23H2 of Windows 11 will end on November 11th, 2025, and Microsoft has not yet added 24H2 to the relevant documentation.
