GAC Group's Ruchii Mobility Approved for Robotaxi Road Tests in Hengqin
TapTechNews August 6th news, GAC Group announced today that after being reviewed by the work meeting of the Intelligent Connected Vehicle Autonomous Driving Working Group of the Hengqin Guangdong-Macao Deep Cooperation Zone, its smart travel platform Ruchii Mobility has been approved to conduct Robotaxi road tests in the entire area of the cooperation zone.
The Urban Planning and Construction Bureau of the Zhuhai Hengqin Guangdong-Macao Deep Cooperation Zone announced on July 26th to open 330 kilometers of the entire area's road network as intelligent connected autonomous driving vehicle road test and demonstration application sections, providing a broader space for the application of autonomous driving vehicles in Hengqin.
Officials said that Ruchii Robotaxi has already provided services in the central urban areas of two first-tier cities, Guangzhou and Shenzhen. As of December 31, 2023, the platform's Robotaxi transport capacity reached 281 vehicles, ranking first among domestic travel platforms. Ruchii Robotaxi service has cumulatively operated for 20,080 hours, covering 545 stations, and completing 450,699 kilometers of safe trial operation mileage.
According to TapTechNews' previous report, on July 10th, Ruchii Mobility was listed in Hong Kong, and the funds will be used for the research and development of autonomous driving and Robotaxi operation services.
