Microsoft Abandons Rounded Tab Design of Edge Browser

TapTechNews September 16th news, at the special event held in February last year, Microsoft released New Bing and the brand-new Edge browser, and announced bringing a new design to the Edge browser. It is introduced that the Edge browser will have a new look and visual feel, as well as new rounded tab pages and more blur effects in the window, which will be more fashionable and lighter.

However, for more than a year so far, Microsoft has not made any formal actions regarding the above new design. Tonight Beijing time, a Microsoft spokesperson confirmed to the foreign media WindowsCentral that the company is abandoning the rounded rectangle tab design launched last year, meaning that Microsoft has canceled the plan to comprehensively modify the Edge interface.

At the same time, some remnants of the new design will remain, including the border around the web page and the repositioned user buttons, but most of the new design will no longer be used. As for the specific reason why Microsoft made this decision, it is still unknown for now.

TapTechNews note: In the previous period of time, users could enable the new style tab page through the flag. But in the recent several versions, the Edge browser began to remind users that this function will be discontinued, and the flag related to the rounded tab page has been completely deleted in the current latest version of EdgeCanary.
