Google Pixel 9 Series Phones Released with New Features

TapTechNews August 14th news, Google Pixel 9 series phones have now been released:

Google Pixel 9: $799 (TapTechNews note: about 5735 Chinese yuan currently)

Google Pixel 9 Pro: $999 (about 7170 Chinese yuan currently)

Google Pixel 9 Pro XL: $1099 (about 7888 Chinese yuan currently)

Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold: $1799 (about 12912 Chinese yuan currently)

Pixel 9 is equipped with a 6.3-inch OLED display, featuring FHD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. Compared to the previous generation, it mainly abandons the optical fingerprint sensor and adopts a more reliable ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, while upgrading the Tensor G4 processor.

Tensor G4 adopts one Cortex-X4 core, three A720 and four A520 cores (one less physical core than last year), and integrates a more efficient Exynos 5400 baseband, but still uses the Mali-G715 GPU (with a slightly increased frequency).

As in previous years, Google will provide 7-year software updates (operating system and security patches) for this series of models, so it will be one of the first models to upgrade to Android 15.

In terms of appearance, the biggest difference between Pixel 9 and Pro is that Pro is equipped with a periscope, while the ordinary Pixel 9 insists on using the classic dual-camera (wide-angle + ultra-wide-angle) configuration.

The phone沿用 the previous-generation 50MP main camera solution (1/1.31-inch Samsung GNK sensor, 1.2 µm pixels, supporting OIS), and the front camera adopts a 10.5MP Samsung sensor and supports auto-focus.

The phone's ultra-wide-angle lens is upgraded to 50MP Sony IMX858 (1/2.51”), which is stronger than the 12MP (1/2.8”) lens of the Pixel 8 series. In addition to this, Google has finally enabled 8K video recording (which GNK has always supported) for this series of models.

Although Google does not focus on fast charging performance, the charging speed of Pixel 9 has also been significantly improved - it can be charged to 55% within 30 minutes.

Google Pixel 9 provides four colors to choose from: porcelain white, rose color, green and obsidian color, uses an aluminum middle frame, and the front and back are both made of Gorilla Glass, supports IP68 dust and water resistance, provides a USB-C 3.2 interface, and supports Wi-Fi 6 and millimeter-wave 5G.

Compared to the ordinary version, Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro XL are equipped with 16GB of memory, up to 1TB of storage space, a 48MP ultra-wide-angle camera and a 48MP 5x optical zoom telephoto lens, a 42MP front-facing self-timer camera, and have a higher-resolution OLED sc reen, LTPO can go as low as 1Hz, and also support 8K video recording.

Google Pixel 9 Pro XL is larger in size and has a higher resolution (1440p) compared to 9 Pro, and also has a larger battery and a faster 37W fast charging, and other aspects are almost exactly the same.

Pixel 9 Pro Fold also carries Tensor G4, using a 48MP f/1.7 main camera, a 10.5MP ultra-wide-angle, a 10.8MP telephoto (5X), but does not support 8K video recording, and both the inner and outer screens use a 10MP front-facing camera.

Pixel 9 Pro Fold's outer screen uses a 6.3-inch 1080p resolution 120Hz refresh rate OLED screen, while the inner screen is an 8-inch LTPO OLED with a resolution of 2076x2152.
