Chinese Electric Car Manufacturer Zhi Ji Reveals Future Product Plans and Market Challenges

TapTechNews May 13 news, according to the car media AutoLab, after the end of the evening press conference, Zhi Ji Automobile Co-CEO Liu Tao accepted media interviews. Liu Tao revealed that in the future, Zhi Ji's iteration speed will pay tribute to 3C products, with a cycle of 12-18 months, and LS6 and LS7 facelifts will be launched in the second half of this year.

Liu Tao said that since the beginning of this year, the market performance of LS6 has indeed fallen short of expectations, but after the facelift in the second half of the year, the price will be very explosive.

When asked about the entry of Tesla FSD into China, Liu Tao said that this is a challenge for the industry. Tesla's visual algorithm is indeed awe-inspiring, but Chinese electric car brands still have opportunities, mainly in two aspects. On the one hand, (independent brands) understand Chinese driving habits and road conditions better, and the data accumulation of Chinese car companies is more critical than Tesla; on the other hand, the perception capability with lidar as the core is more suitable for facing the complex road scenes in China.

According to previous reports by TapTechNews, SAIC's April production and sales express data show that the sales volume of independent brands in that month reached 216,000 units, accounting for over 60% of the company's sales; the sales volume of new energy vehicles reached 75,000 units, a year-on-year increase of 9.3%; and overseas sales reached 92,000 units, a year-on-year increase of 2.7%. Among them, Zhi Ji Automobile's sales in April increased by 49.3% year-on-year, but the specific sales data for Zhi Ji Automobile in April has not been disclosed by the official. By comparison, Zhi Ji Automobile sold 2,009 vehicles in April of last year.

According to data from the China Passenger Car Association on wholesale sales volume by manufacturers, Zhi Ji Automobile's wholesale sales volume in April was 3,000 units, and retail sales volume is currently unknown.
