Two Intercity Lines to Open in Guangdong, China
TapTechNews May 24, reports that according to the official news of Guangdong Intercity, with the approval of the Provincial Department of Transport, the Guangfo South Ring and Foshan-Dongguan intercity lines are scheduled to officially open for operation at 12:00 on May 26.
TapTechNews learns that the two newly opened intercity lines will be connected end to end with the already opened Foshan-Zhaoqing intercity and Dongguan-Huizhou intercity lines to achieve the four lines through-operation, forming a 258-mile (about 415 kilometers), east-west oriented transportation artery that brings the central areas of Foshan and Dongguan into Guangzhou's half-hour commuting circle, and the central areas of Zhaoqing and Huizhou into Guangzhou's one-hour commuting circle, accelerating the formation of a new pattern of rail transit in the Greater Bay Area.
After the opening of the two intercity lines, the mileage of intercity railways operated by the Guangzhou Metro Group will reach 318.6 miles (about 512 kilometers), and with Panyu Station as the center, to the west is the Guangzhou-Zhaoqing intercity, and to the east is the Guangzhou-Huizhou intercity, connecting Guangzhou, Foshan, Zhaoqing, Dongguan, and Huizhou. There are a total of 39 stations along the whole line, among which there are 5 in Guangzhou, 9 in Foshan, 6 in Zhaoqing, 12 in Dongguan, and 7 in Huizhou. The maximum operating speed of the train is 200 kilometers per hour.
After the four lines through-operation, the station-stop + express train in big stations public transport operation mode will be fully launched, and the routes of Zhaoqing Station - Xiaojinkou Station and Foshan West Station - Xiaojinkou Station will be implemented, with an average interval of 26 minutes. Among them, the express train in big stations will fixedly stop at 14 stations including Zhaoqing, Dinghu East, Dawang, Sanshui North, Foshan West, Panyu, Guangzhou Changlong, Dongguan West, Xipingxi, Songshan Lake North, Changping South, Chenjiang South, West Lake East and Xiaojinkou, and passengers can flexibly arrange the travel time according to their own needs.
