TapTechNews August 27th news, Samsung Electronics today announced that its LPDDR4X automotive memory for advanced in-vehicle infotainment (IVI) and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) has been verified by Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon Digital Chassis platform.

Samsung is developing the next-generation LPDDR5 automotive-grade chip, and the official expects to be able to provide samples in the fourth quarter of this year. LPDDR5 will be able to support Samsung's automotive memory to reach 9.6 gigabits per second (Gbps).

TapTechNews noted that Samsung started mass production of the automotive UFS3.1 memory solution optimized for in-vehicle infotainment systems (IVI) last July, introducing three capacities of 128, 256, and 512 gigabytes (GB).

Last May, Qualcomm announced its fourth-generation cockpit chip Snapdragon 8295 (SA8295), and the current new platform has been installed in brand models such as Xiaomi, NIO, Li Auto, and Zeekr.
