Today, 'Food delivery riders claim to earn over 10,000 yuan per month by running for more than 10 hours' has gone on Weibo's hot search. Food Delivery Riders' Income and High Temperature Subsidies in China_0

Media 'Blue Whale News' interviewed food delivery riders in Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Guangdong, Fujian and other places to investigate their income situation in extremely hot days. Many of them claimed that they need to run orders for more than 10 hours per day on average to earn over 10,000 yuan per month. 'In Shanghai, by running food delivery for 10 hours a day, I can earn a little more than 10,000 yuan a month. For those like me who are new and not that desperate, some people run for 13 hours a day and can earn about 13,000 yuan a month.'

However, not all food delivery riders in all places can get a monthly salary of more than 10,000 yuan. A food delivery rider in Henan said, 'There are extremely many food delivery riders in Henan. If you don't run desperately, you will only get 4,000 yuan a month in hand. Those who run fast can have more than 6,000 yuan. And some orders only have a minimum of 2.5 yuan per delivery. Less money, tired from running orders, and hot weather. To sum up, it is really very difficult to deliver food.

In terms of high temperature subsidies, currently there are still many food delivery riders whose high temperature allowances cannot be implemented. The subsidy intensities also vary among different regions and platforms. The report said that in different regions and on different platforms, the high temperature allowances for crowdsourcing or dedicated delivery are different. Some regions even have no high temperature allowances.

A Meituan rider, Xiaole, said that in the rules of crowdsourcing LeRun, the high temperature allowance was replaced by the form of activities. The more orders completed, the more rewards. There is no allowance if the requirement is not met. For example, Xiaole completed 24 orders cumulatively on a certain day in July and received 14 yuan of 'high temperature care money' that day, averaging more than 50 cents per order allowance.

In terms of Meituan dedicated delivery, a dedicated rider in a certain first-tier city disclosed to the reporter, 'I have been doing dedicated delivery for two years, and I have never heard of a high temperature allowance. At most, the station manager occasionally gives riders a drink when having a meeting.' But there are also riders in Jiangsu and Zhejiang areas who said that there will indeed be high temperature subsidy activities in hot weather, about 4,000 to 5,000 yuan in a summer.

In terms of Ele.me, the management methods for the issuance of related high temperature allowances are also uneven. In some places, the high temperature allowance is calculated in the form of 50 cents per order, the more you work, the more you get. But not all regions have high temperature subsidies. An Ele.me dedicated rider in Shanghai disclosed, 'There used to be before, but there is no longer now. Whether it is that my own station doesn't have it or the entire Shanghai area doesn't have it is not clear.'
