HighPoint Launches SSD7749M2RAID Add-on Card with Impressive Features

In physical terms, the SSD7749M2 add-on card contains 8 storage modules for mounting M.2 solid-state drives, and each module can accommodate one M.2 2280 solid-state drive on both the front and back sides, and also reserved the fixing holes for the 2242/2260 disk bodies.

In terms of data transmission, SSD7749M2 supports PCIe 4.0. It is equipped with the Broadcom PEX88048 PCIe switching chip, using 16 PCIe channels for upstream and 32 channels for downstream, and each module gets 4 channels, corresponding to PCIe 4.0×2 for each solid-state drive.

To deal with the heat generated by up to 16 solid-state drives, while HighPoint SSD7749M2 is equipped with a fan and an aluminum fin panel at the front, it is also equipped with 2 fans at the rear to improve the heat dissipation ability, and the openings in the baffle and the middle of the card body also help to dissipate heat.

HighPoint said that SSD7749M2 supports the formation of up to 4 RAID0/1/10 arrays, and the entire add-on card can provide a sequential transfer rate of up to 28 GB/s, and the long-term performance can also remain above 20 GB/s.
