China's State Taxation Administration Launches Remote Virtual Window for Nationwide Cross-Regional Tax Affairs

TapTechNews July 17th news, TapTechNews learned from the official website of the State Taxation Administration that since March, the State Taxation Administration has moved the physical window service from offline to online, and constructed a remote virtual window, through which taxpayers can handle cross-regional tax affairs across the country.

The relevant person in charge of the Tax Service Department of the State Taxation Administration introduced that before the launch of the remote virtual window, in some special cases, it was impossible to handle taxes in different places on the e-tax bureau, affecting the service experience of taxpayers.

The remote virtual window has multiple functions such as supporting remote identity verification, data transfer, audio and video interaction, and screen sharing. It can allow taxpayers and payers to have visual interaction with the tax officials at the place where the business is handled without changing the law enforcement subject, the authority of tax officials, and the business handling process, and handle cross-regional tax affairs online.

The remote virtual window was piloted and launched in the tax service halls in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region at the end of March; it was expanded in the Yangtze River Delta, Chengdu-Chongqing and other regions in mid-April; it was realized to be launched and operated across the country at the end of May. Data shows that the national tax authorities have handled 101,000 cross-regional tax affairs.
