Meta Company Received Infringement Notice from CNKI

TapTechNews August 16th news, Meta Company announced through its official WeChat public account this morning that it received a 28-page infringement notice letter yesterday from the Electronic Magazine of the China Academic Journals (CD-ROM) Co., Ltd. (namely, China National Knowledge Infrastructure or CNKI).

According to the Daily Economic News report, the Meta side said this afternoon that the subsequent service provision is completely unaffected, and many databases have actively expressed their willingness to cooperate with Meta.

Wang Yiwei, the chief operating officer of Meta Technology, responded that the included content of Meta AI search is all publicly available abstracts and bibliographies, and there is no behavior of including the content of CNKI articles themselves. He further stated that the data ownership belongs to CNKI, but the premise of infringement is to have damage, and he expressed confusion about the accusation of infringing on the legitimate rights and interests of CNKI.

According to TapTechNews' report this morning, the Meta side announced that it does not understand but respects the choice of CNKI, and from now on, Meta AI search will no longer include the bibliographies and abstract data of CNKI literature, and instead include the bibliographies and abstract data of literature from other authoritative Chinese and English knowledge bases.
