Mercedes-Benz (China) to Recall 1,716 Imported E-Class and AMG GT Cars in 2024

TapTechNews August 16th news, TapTechNews learned from the State Administration for Market Regulation that recently, Mercedes-Benz (China) Automobile Sales Co., Ltd. has filed a recall plan with the State Administration for Market Regulation in accordance with the Regulations on the Management of Recalled Defective Automobile Products and the Implementation Measures of the Regulations on the Management of Recalled Defective Automobile Products. Starting from November 15, 2024, it will recall some imported E-Class and AMG GT cars with production dates from June 8, 2018 to April 8, 2022, a total of 1,716 vehicles.

This recall belongs to the re-recall of the Mercedes-Benz (China) Automobile Sales Co., Ltd. Recalls Some Imported E-Class and AMG GT Cars released on October 21, 2022.

In the implementation process of the above recall activities for some vehicles within the scope of this recall, the electrical connector of the transmission harness may not be correctly repaired. External moisture may seep into the connector and cause a short circuit of the electrical connector. In extreme cases, it may lead to thermal overload and there is a risk of fire.

Mercedes-Benz (China) Automobile Sales Co., Ltd. will, through Mercedes-Benz authorized dealers, replace the improved transmission harness for vehicles within the scope of the recall free of charge to eliminate potential safety hazards.
