Wuling Xingguang S A New Energy SUV to Be Launched
TapTechNews June 25th news, Wuling's first new energy dual-power SUV - Wuling Xingguang S will be launched in August, and the official interior official images of the new car were announced today.
Wuling Xingguang S has three interior color options available: light sand, dark black, and coconut brown. It adopts a wraparound cockpit design with leather soft wrapping and wood grain decoration; there is a floating LCD instrument panel and a floating central control screen on the center console. The vehicle infotainment system is equipped with voice control and various Apps, and the physical key area of the air conditioning is retained under the center console.
The vehicle has four exterior color options available in Starlight White, Interstellar Blue, Starfield Gray, and Starflash Gold.
Wuling Xingguang S is the second model of the D platform of the Tianyu architecture and is positioned as a medium-sized SUV. It will offer two powertrain options: pure electric and plug-in hybrid.
It adopts a star-track body style while being matched with a two-color five-spoke wheel design, with length, width, and height of 4745/1890/1680mm (approx. 155.7/74.4/66.1 inches) and a wheelbase of 2800mm (approx. 110.2 inches).
It is equipped with starlight rear taillights and front daytime running lights, as well as a combination of the Big Dipper-shaped taillights and star-array turn signals, with unified front and rear design造型.
According to TapTechNews' previous report, the Wuling Xingguang S model appeared in the new products publicity of the 384th batch of the 'Announcement of Road Motor Vehicle Production Enterprises and Product Listings' of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. It will provide two power options: plug-in hybrid (PHEV) and pure electric (EV). According to the declaration information of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the PHEV version will be equipped with two battery packs with different capacities, which are 20.5 kWh and 9.5 kWh, and the pure electric cruising range can reach 90 miles and 43 miles respectively.
In terms of power, the Wuling Xingguang S PHEV version will be equipped with a hybrid power system composed of a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated engine and an electric motor. The maximum power of the 1.5-liter engine is 78 kilowatts, and the power of the electric motor has not been announced yet. The EV version's electric motor has a maximum power of 150 kilowatts, uses single-motor drive, and is equipped with lithium iron phosphate battery.
From the perspective of vehicle model positioning and body dimensions, the main competitors of Wuling Xingguang S are BYD Song PLUS DM-i and BYD Yuan PLUS.
