CoolerMaster Suffers Data Breach 103GB Stolen including Fanzone Member Info

TapTechNews May 30th news, an attacker who calls himself Ghostr contacted the bleepingcomputer media yesterday, claiming that he had stolen 103GB of data from CoolerMaster on May 18, 2024, including the Fanzone member information of 500,000 customers.

Ghostr said that the stolen data included CoolerMaster's main enterprise, suppliers, sales, warranty, inventory and human resources data, as well as personal information of more than 500,000 fans zone members, including names, addresses, dates of birth, phones, emails + unencrypted credit card information (including names, credit card numbers, expiration dates and 3-digit cc codes).

TapTechNews note: CoolerMaster's Fanzone website is used to register product warranties, submit return authorization (RMA) requests, contact support staff and register for news updates.

Ghostr said that by hacking into one of the company's front-end websites, a large number of databases were downloaded, including the database of Fanzone information.

A threat actor said that they tried to contact the company and demanded payment for not disclosing or selling the data, but CoolerMaster did not respond.

Ghostr shared samples of the stolen data, and these CSV files contained various data, including products, suppliers, customers and employee information.

One of the files contains about 1,000 records and seems to be a recent customer support ticket and RMA request, including customer names, email addresses, dates of birth, physical addresses, phone numbers and IP addresses.
