Western Digital Launches 8TB WD Black SN850X NVMe SSD with Special Features

TapTechNews July 16th news, Western Digital has launched a huge 8TB capacity version for its WD Black SN850X NVMe SSD, priced at $849.99 (TapTechNews note: currently about 6179 Chinese yuan).

SN850X is positioned as Western Digital's flagship enthusiast-class black disk, with a PCIe 4.0 interface and M.2 2280 size specification. Currently, there are 1TB, 2TB, and 4TB versions, and the current pricing in the official JD.com flagship store is 699 yuan, 1199 yuan, and 2599 yuan respectively.

The new 8TB version reduces the read speed to 7200 MBps (the other versions are 7300 MBps), and the write speed is the same at 6600 MBps. In addition, the 8TB provides 1200 KIOPS of random write speed, while the random write speed of the smaller capacity versions is 1100 KIOPS.

The official website price of the 8TB version of Western Digital SN850X solid-state drive is $849.99 (currently about 6179 Chinese yuan), and the domestic pricing has not been announced yet. This hard drive also has an option to add an RGB heatsink version, which requires an additional $50 (currently about 363 Chinese yuan).
