TapTechNews noticed that after EpicGames and Apple fell out due to a 30% commission, 'Fortnite' was kicked out of the AppStore in August 2020.

Before the introduction of the Digital Markets Act in the EU, Epic had been strongly supporting the act and hoped to see similar rules adopted in the United States and other regions. After Apple released the third-party app market plan, EpicGames promised that 'Fortnite' will 'eturn to iOS' in Europe.

According to the latest regulations, for applications installed outside the AppStore and with a download volume of more than 1 million, Apple will charge each user 0.50 euros (Note by TapTechNews: currently about 4.26 US dollars) annually, but does not charge AppStore commission or in-app fees. Epic CEO Tim Sweeney called Apple's payment method a 'junk fee'.
