TapTechNews reports on June 29 that after the launch of the Leapmotor C16 last night, Jiangming Zhu, the founder, chairman and CEO of Leapmotor, and Li Cao, the vice president of Leapmotor, were interviewed by multiple media outlets.

Based on the interview content sorted out by automotive media such as Autohome and Dongchedi, the executives of Leapmotor talked about topics such as future product planning and overseas expansion plans. Leapmotor will consist of four major series A, B, C and D in the future, and the current disclosed product plans are as follows:

Series B: Three models will be launched in 2025, focusing on the market of $15,000-$20,000, and high-end models will also have configurations such as lidar and high-computing intelligent driving chips. Its first model will make its debut at the Paris Auto Show (TapTechNews note: opening this October).

Series D: It will come out in 2026 and will focus on the market above $30,000.

Earlier this month, Jiangming Zhu once said that the $10,000-15,000 level Series A model will be released next year and is expected to carry lidar and advanced intelligent driving.

In terms of overseas expansion, Leapmotor mainly focuses on four major areas of Europe, South America, Asia-Pacific and the Middle East this year. In response to the certain obstacles encountered by current Chinese brands going overseas, it is currently discussing response plans with Stellantis - It is a positive for going overseas. The Leapmotor C16 has no overseas expansion plan for now, but it will be adjusted and started at any time according to the needs of the overseas market. If you can (stand firm globally), it must be globalized. We look at the top ten global automakers, basically they have to achieve an annual sales volume of more than 3 million units, and have at least more than 50% of the overseas market.

Jiangming Zhu also said that after the delivery of his own C16, he will auction some of his own luxury cars (Mercedes-Benz S-Class, Porsche Cayenne, Toyota Alphard) to make the C16 his only car.
