Great Wall Motors' Tank 800 Model Set to Launch by End of the Year, Previously Debuted at Shanghai Auto Show

TapTechNews reports on May 11th that during the recent annual shareholders' meeting of Great Wall Motors, CGO (Chief Growth Officer) Li Ruifeng revealed that the Tank 800 model could be launched by the end of this year.

TapTechNews noted that the prototype of this vehicle had already made its appearance at the 2021 Shanghai Auto Show, claiming to be the pinnacle of Chinese luxury off-road SUVs. However, the model has not yet gone into mass production.

According to previously released official information, the Tank 800 prototype features a luxurious 'Zongheng' (vertical and horizontal) front face design inspired by the Forbidden City. The interior layout is symmetrical, equipped with a rectangular central control screen supplemented by physical buttons.

In terms of power, the Tank 800 prototype is equipped with a standard 3.0T+9HAT+P2 powertrain system, delivering a total power output of 380 kW and a peak torque of 750 N・m. The vehicle features a V6 engine that offers a maximum power of 260 kW and a maximum torque of 500 N・m. The 9HAT transmission is the first domestically made 9-speed hydrodynamic automatic transmission covering both conventional and P2 forms, with a torque capacity of 750 N・m.
