DingTalk Defines Overseas Expansion as Strategic Project

TapTechNews June 20th news, according to the report of 36Kr today, DingTalk has recently clearly defined going overseas as a strategic-level project. Several departments including product research, solution, sales, and marketing inside have selected personnel to form a mixed-team.

36Kr verified the above message with DingTalk, and DingTalk officials said there is a relevant layout, and currently it is mainly to serve the overseas expansion needs of existing customers. Previously, DingTalk has already started small-scale trial in the field of going overseas and provided services to several hundred Chinese-funded enterprises with overseas business.

The report said that DingTalk has started to recruit employees in Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore and other regions on platforms such as LinkedIn, and the main positions are regional managers and solution managers. However, overseas compliance, inconsistent language/time differences, etc., are all challenges that enterprises need to face.

A person close to DingTalk said that DingTalk has reached cooperation with a number of ecological partners and established an overseas service ecosystem.

At present, there are many giants in the overseas SaaS (TapTechNews note: usually referring to Software as a Service, software as a service, generally refers to software product services for the enterprise end) market, and the competition is still very fierce, and Teams, Slack, Zoom and other new and old players have occupied most of the market share. The report believes that for Chinese collaborative office software like DingTalk, although there is the backing of a large factory, in order to stand out in the overseas market where giants are clustered, DingTalk still has great challenges in localized operation and overseas brand.
