FreeBSD 14.1-RELEASE Update Enhancements and Improvements

TapTechNews Jun 5th news, FreeBSD 14.1-RELEASE is the latest maintenance version update of the 14-STABLE branch. In addition to improving background performance, enhancing stability, and fixing bugs, it mainly upgrades OpenZFS and improves the sound effect.

FreeBSD 14.1-RELEASE introduces some fixes from the FreeBSD 15 development process and brings other related improvements. For example, the date program now supports nanoseconds (nanoseconds), updates OpenSSH, device drivers and other applications, upgrades the OpenZFS file system driver (OpenZFS 2.2.4), and so on.

The C library of FreeBSD 14.1 implements SIMD for string and memory operations on AMD64, further improving performance. In addition, the new version improves the sound subsystem to better support hot plugging of sound devices.
