Chrysler to Recall 9,713 Imported Grand Cherokee Vehicles in China

TapTechNews June 14th, recently, Chrysler (China) Automobile Sales Co., Ltd. in accordance with the requirements of the Regulations on the Administration of Recall of Defective Automobile Products and the Implementing Measures for the Regulations on the Administration of Recall of Defective Automobile Products, has filed a recall plan with the State Administration for Market Regulation. It has decided to, effective immediately, recall some imported Grand Cherokee vehicles produced during the period from September 13, 2013 to July 13, 2017, a total of 9,713 vehicles.

In this recall scope, some vehicles due to the damage of the camshaft roller of the high-pressure fuel pump, generating metal debris, which may lead to the blockage of the fuel system and insufficient fuel supply of the high-pressure fuel pump, and the vehicle loses power during driving, presenting a safety hazard.

TapTechNews Note: Chrysler (China) Automobile Sales Co., Ltd. will replace the high-pressure fuel pump for vehicles within the recall range free of charge and inspect the fuel system. If there is contamination, additional fuel system components will be replaced free of charge to eliminate the safety hazard.
