Typhoon Bebinca Hits Shanghai, Affecting Telecom Services

TapTechNews on September 16th, TapTechNews learned from the Shanghai Communications Administration that Typhoon Bebinca (strong typhoon level), the 13th typhoon this year, landed on the coast of Lingang New City in Pudong, Shanghai around 7:30 am (today) on September 16th. When landing, the maximum wind speed near the center was 14 levels (42 meters per second, strong typhoon level), and the minimum central pressure was 955 hPas. At 5 pm on September 15th, Shanghai had already launched a second-level flood prevention and typhoon prevention response, and the typhoon had a certain impact on Shanghai.

The Shanghai Communications Administration has cumulatively dispatched 13689 personnel for guarantee, 657 guarantee vehicles, 851 generator sets, and 99 satellite phones. On September 14th, various basic telecom enterprises cumulatively sent 42.51 million flood prevention safety reminder text messages, reminding all citizens to pay attention to flood prevention, know about flood prevention, and participate in flood prevention.
