TapTechNews May 25th news, Broadcom has recently launched a network card model named 'P1400GD'. This network card supports a 400 Gigabit per second (Gbps) network, is equipped with the BCM57608 chip, and complies with the IEEE P802.3bs standard.
Broadcom stated that this network card is one of the first batch of products in the industry built using 5-nanometer process technology, aiming to provide support for AI/ML, cloud, and high-performance computing. It is equipped with the sixth-generation enhanced NIC architecture and the fourth-generation RoCE congestion control system, while also supporting hardware acceleration technologies such as TruFlow.
In terms of specifications, this card uses a single-slot space and passive cooling, and needs to be used in the PCIE 5.0 x16 channel. The single port can support a maximum rate of 400 Gigabits (about 400 billion bits per second), and is downward compatible with 200/100/50/40/25 Gigabits. It supports full-duplex mode and also supports 100G/50G PAM4 and 25G NRZ high-speed SerDes.
