Ferrari's First Electric Car Price, Factory, and Future Plans

TapTechNews June 19 - According to a report by Reuters today, sources said Ferrari's first electric car will cost at least 500,000 euros (TapTechNews note: currently about 3.898 million yuan). In addition, Ferrari is also preparing to open a factory dedicated to producing this model, which is expected to increase production by one-third.

The report mentioned that this price does not include the function and personalized optional configurations, which often increase the whole vehicle price by 15% to 20%. The electric car factory in Maranello, northern Italy, where Ferrari is located, is a bold move for the company, because last year the number of cars delivered by the company was less than 14,000, and the factory will eventually increase its production capacity to about 20,000 units.

Maranello factory will add an automobile assembly line for Ferrari to produce fuel, hybrid and pure electric supercars. Sources said the factory will be fully operational in three to four months. At the same time, a second electric car is also under development, but the development process is still in the early stage.

Ferrari's chief executive Benedetto Vigna told shareholders in April that this state-of-the-art factory will ensure that we have flexibility and technical capabilities beyond demand in the next few years.

Sources said that while production increases, the number of models launched by Ferrari will also increase. Because Ferrari will adhere to its policy - no matter how successful it is, the production of any model of the company remains within a certain range.
