Microsoft Introduces New Lock Screen Card Feature for Windows 11/10

On June 11, TapTechNews reported that Microsoft has currently rolled out a brand-new lock screen card feature to all Windows 11/10 users. This feature first appeared in Windows 11's Build 23612 version.

This feature is a set of small card components including weather, market, and sports news. Currently, users cannot customize them. Users can select the weather in Settings > Personalization > Lock Screen > Lock Screen Status tab, and a set of small card components will appear.

According to TapTechNews' test, since the information of these cards is updated through MSN, if users click on these small card components, the relevant pages will be directly opened from the Edge browser. If users want to completely remove the MSN integration service from the lock screen, they need to use the Group Policy Editor, which is not possible for Windows 11 and Windows 10 Home Edition users.

Microsoft previously disclosed to foreign media WindowsLatest that in the future, it will allow users to customize the small card components on the lock screen. However, this function is only limited to what content users choose to appear on the small card components on the lock screen. For example, users can choose the latest news of a certain sports star they are interested in on the sports news card. This is different from what some users expect, which is that they can only keep the weather card and turn off the market or sports news cards at the same time.
