Sony cancels mandatory PSN account binding for game 'Metal Gear Solid 2'

TapTechNews May 12th news, Sony recently announced that the game 'Metal Gear Solid 2' will force players to bind their PSN account, but later the official decided to cancel this mandatory binding measure.

However, the PSN account policy not only affects the game 'Metal Gear Solid 2', according to previous reports by TapTechNews, the developer Nixxes of the PC version (porting this game) 'Ghost of Tsushima' claimed that players need to bind their PSN account to play the game's online multiplayer mode, but the single-player mode does not require binding a PSN account.

According to SteamDB data, like the previous 'Metal Gear Solid 2', the PC version of 'Ghost of Tsushima' has now been removed from over 100 regions where PSN cannot be used, and there are also reports that Steam is sending emails to provide refund support for players who pre-ordered the game.

Considering that the game will be released on May 16th, this situation will obviously have a certain impact on the game's first-day sales, but it is currently unknown whether Nixxes will also choose to cancel the PSN account binding policy.

According to previous reports, several players on Reddit revealed that many distributors have canceled the distribution of PC version 'Ghost of Tsushima' CD-Key activation codes, but the game can still be purchased on the Steam platform in the 'support PSN' region (including the Chinese region).
