Great Wall Motors' May 2024 Sales and Updates

According to TapTechNews on June 3, Great Wall Motors released its production and sales express report for May 2024 today. The data shows that the company's auto sales in May were 91,500 units, a year-on-year decrease of 9.51%; the cumulative sales from January to May were 461,600 units, an increase of 11.42% year-on-year. Among them, the sales of new energy vehicles in May were 24,600 units, and the cumulative sales from January to May were 106,300 units.

Haval brand: 47,066 units in the current month, compared with 55,600 units in the same period last year, a year-on-year decrease of 15.35%.

WEY brand: 2,862 units in the current month, compared with 5,770 units in the same period last year, a year-on-year decrease of 50.40%.

Great Wall pickup: 15,101 units in the current month, compared with 18,605 units in the same period last year, a year-on-year decrease of 18.83%.

Euler brand: 6,005 units in the current month, compared with 10,616 units in the same period last year, a year-on-year decrease of 43.43%.

Tank brand: 20,326 units in the current month, compared with 10,429 units in the same period last year, a year-on-year increase of 94.9%.

According to a previous report by TapTechNews, some foreign media had claimed that Great Wall Motors plans to close its European headquarters in Munich, Germany, at the end of August and lay off all 100 employees. The company will stop expanding to other European markets, but does not plan to withdraw from Europe. It is learned that Great Wall Motors informed its employees and business partners of this measure last Tuesday. Steffen Cost, the chief commercial officer of Great Wall Motors' European headquarters, and his executive team are all on the list of those to be shut down and laid off by the Great Wall Motors European company at the end of August.
