TapTechNews September 13th news, Microsoft Corporation yesterday (September 12th) released a blog post, inviting Microsoft 365 Insider users to test the language translation function of the Microsoft Teams application, with a focus on supporting two-way translation.
Microsoft said that after the interpreter clicks the button, they can switch the translation direction of the two languages in Microsoft Teams, realizing more efficient real-time translation and greatly simplifying the process.
TapTechNews note: Microsoft Teams currently has added simultaneous interpretation function in non-encrypted meetings, allowing professional interpreters to translate the speech content in the meeting into another language in real time without interrupting the speaker.
After realizing the two-way support of language mutual translation in Teams, the interpreter now only needs to click the indicator on the screen to switch the translation direction between the two languages . This new feature eliminates the trouble of needing a second interpreter or additional equipment when switching languages back and forth.
Through this new function, interpreters entering the Teams meeting will see a notification reminding them to pay attention to the language translation indicator located at the bottom of the Teams application.
Subsequently, the interpreter will see a button at the bottom of the screen, which shows the language they are translating for other participants, and also provides a second language option. For example, the button can display two language options such as German and Chinese.
Microsoft said:
The interpreter can choose another button to switch the language they are translating into. They can continue to switch back and forth during the meeting as needed.
