Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications Adds New Robot Engineering Major

TapTechNews May 25th news, according to The Paper, Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications held a campus open day and media briefing today, and this year the university will add a new Robot Engineering major for undergraduate enrollment.

According to Xu Kun, the president of BUPT, BUPT has recently newly adjusted and formed the Institute of Intelligent Engineering and Automation, added the Robot Engineering undergraduate major and started enrollment. This major is for the development needs of future intelligent robots, relying on BUPT's leading advantage in the field of information technology, and will also focus on deepening the multi-disciplinary intersection and integration of control science and engineering, electronic science and technology, mechanical engineering, computer science and technology, artificial intelligence, etc. under the background of new engineering, and implement a training mode that emphasizes both foundation and application, creating a curriculum system composed of modules such as robot body design, sensing and control, information processing and intelligent decision-making, to cultivate high-quality interdisciplinary talents of combination of science and engineering.

TapTechNews note: The Robot Engineering major will be enrolled in a large category of Automation (Intelligent Robots) together with other majors.

In addition, the enrollment number of the Meta-Class in the Future College of BUPT will increase from 200 last year to 220 this year, and will recruit students in 30 provinces across the country except Tibet.
