WeRide and Pony.ai Start Autonomous Driving Services at Beijing Daxing Airport
TapTechNews reported on June 28 that on June 27, WeRide of Wenyuan Zhixing obtained the notice of the commercial pilot of high-speed road travel service in the Beijing Intelligent Connected Vehicle Policy Pilot Zone, and its self-driving travel service vehicles were allowed to carry out the commercial pilot of self-driving travel service between the terminal building of Beijing Daxing International Airport and Beijing Economic and Technological Development Zone.
According to the introduction, users who want to experience can download the WeRideGoApp and select the nearest starting point and destination among 242 boarding and alighting points in Beijing Economic and Technological Development Zone and the boarding and alighting points at Beijing Daxing International Airport to make an appointment and call the self-driving travel service vehicle of Wenyuan Zhixing. Passengers can also view the vehicle dynamics and estimated cost in real time through the WeRideGoApp, and after the vehicle arrives at the destination, they can pay the travel cost through WeChat payment.

Appointment method: Reserve the airport shuttle service within 3 days (including the same day) through the WeRideGoApp.
Shuttle time: 7:00 - 1:00 the next day.
Pick-up point at Daxing International Airport: 17A of the fast pick-up passage on the 1st floor of the terminal building.
Drop-off point at Daxing International Airport: Middle edge road at the 5th departure gate on the 4th floor of the terminal building.
On the same day (June 27), Pony.ai also announced the start of the self-driving paid service to and from Beijing Daxing Airport. According to the official introduction, the self-driving service charging plan of Pony.ai at Daxing Airport adopts a "fixed price" mechanism, referring to the pricing rules used when providing services in the urban area, and users do not need to pay additional highway tolls.
Users can make an appointment for pick-up and drop-off at the airport one day in advance through the mobile phone software of the same name "Pony.ai", and they can travel to and from Daxing Airport from more than 1000 stations in the Yizhuang area.
