Horton claimed that in the past, the search and rescue team needed to carry life baskets, wheeled stretchers, electrocardiographs and medical supplies with them, which would greatly slow down the speed of the action team. Now the search and rescue team can entrust the transport task of heavy equipment to the drone, thereby reducing the load of the rescue team, allowing relevant personnel to reach the victim more quickly and easily.
It is reported that the rescue team in Weber County first started using drones in 2018, and the currently introduced DJI DJI FlyCart 30 drone will complete a nine-month trial in the Weber County Sheriff's Office. This trial will enable police officers to evaluate the performance of the drone in different seasonal conditions (summer, autumn and winter).
