Sony Xperia 1 VI's New Teaser Video Reveals Upgraded Periscope Telephoto Lens

TapTechNews reports on May 11 that Sony has officially announced a smartphone launch event for May 15. Before the official release, user @INSIDERSONY shared a teaser video, highlighting the all-new periscope-style lens of the Xperia 1 VI.

Sources believe the Xperia 1 VI is likely equipped with an 85-170mm telephoto zoom lens, although the video only shows 138mm. Details will be revealed at the launch event.

Previously, TapTechNews has shared various reports about the Xperia 1 VI. The device is expected to come with a 5,000mAh battery and a rear camera array incorporating Zeiss T* coating to reduce reflections during photography and video recording.

Notably, the Xperia 1 VI retains a 3.5mm headphone jack and supports Hi-Res high-resolution audio as well as LDAC transmission encoding, making its sound quality highly anticipated. Additionally, the phone will support wireless charging and reverse wireless charging features.

Compared to its predecessor, the Xperia 1 VI's design has been modified. It does not feature the elongated style of previous models but opts for a more standard screen aspect ratio while continuing Sony's traditional design aesthetic. To avoid using a punch-hole screen, the bezels at the top and bottom edges are slightly widened.

It is reported that the Xperia 1 VI is expected to launch this month, equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor and a powerful rear camera system. At the same time, another model, Xperia 10 VI, is also expected to launch alongside this flagship.
