Swedish Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut Sets Multiple World Records in High-Speed Test

TapTechNews July 2nd, Swedish car company Koenigsegg conducted a high-speed test drive with its Jesko Absolut supercar at an airport in Örebro and won four world records in one fell swoop. Koenigsegg's new 0-400-0 kilometers per hour top speed record surpassed their previous record, but this time they used a brand new model.

The test driver, Markus Lundh, was tasked to drive the Jesko Absolut for this challenge. He reduced the total time of accelerating and decelerating from 0-400-0 kilometers per hour to 27.83 seconds, successfully beating Koenigsegg's Regera's record of 28.81 seconds set in 2023. Even more astonishingly, Lundh not only broke through the 400-kilometer-per-hour mark but also increased the top speed to 256 miles per hour (approx. 412 kilometers per hour), creating three additional new records in the process.

According to TapTechNews, the 5.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine carried by Jesko can output 1600 horsepower with the support of E85 fuel. Lundh took only 18.82 seconds to reach 400 kilometers per hour, reached 250 miles (TapTechNews note: approx. 402.34 kilometers) per hour in 19.20 seconds, and it took only 28.27 seconds to complete the acceleration and deceleration from 0-250-0 miles per hour.

According to Koenigsegg, in order to obtain calm wind and lower road and air temperatures, this record-breaking test drive was carried out around 5 a.m. Except for the roll cage installed for safety reasons and the seat from Koenigsegg One:1, this racing car has no difference from the standard version of Jesko Absolut, uses E85 fuel, and is equipped with standard Michelin PilotSport Cup 2R tires.

This record-breaking feat has made Koenigsegg's CEO Christian von Koenigsegg even more excited and plans to challenge more records. This test drive verified the accuracy of our simulation and calculation results for the performance of Jesko Absolut, which makes us坚信 that it will become the fastest road-legal mass-produced model in the world, Koenigsegg said. At the same time, we also plan to see what kind of achievements Jesko Attack can achieve with its amazing track performance.
