Porsche to Unveil Hybrid 911 Series Sports Car at End of May

TapTechNews May 13 report, Porsche has confirmed that it will launch a hybrid 911 series sports car, and now the company has confirmed that the new car will be officially unveiled at the end of this month. The company stated that after 3.1 million miles of rigorous testing, including extreme road conditions in Dubai, the first hybrid 911 has been developed and is about to go into production.

Based on previous reports and spy photos, some features of the new 911 hybrid version can be outlined: non-plug-in hybrid system, possibly using an upgraded version of the headlight design from the 2012 911 GT2 RS Clubsport 25 model, and larger Carrera S brakes. Porsche's documents describe this new car as extreme sports, and it is reported that the car may be positioned as a new electrified GT2 RS model with a total horsepower of about 700.

The document also mentioned: The high-performance hybrid system will seamlessly integrate with the innovative development of the 911 series driving system, Frank Moser, who manages the 911 and 718 series models, said, This will allow drivers to benefit from this technology every time they accelerate. Therefore, we have a technology that meets future emission standards. This also explains why Porsche is now introducing the hybrid 911 model.

Porsche announced that the company's brand ambassador Jörg Bergmeister drove the car to complete a single lap timing at the Nürburgring track, with a time of 7:16.934 minutes, which is 8.7 seconds faster than the current non-hybrid version of the same level 911. Porsche stated that the new 911 hybrid version will be globally unveiled at 9 a.m. Pacific Time on May 28 (TapTechNews note: midnight on May 29 Beijing time).
