The Japanese SLIM lunar probe has failed to restore communication and may be permanently lost. It landed precisely in January but had problems with solar panels.

Japan's JAXA gives up on restoring communication with the lunar probe SLIM that landed in January. It has experienced extremely cold nights and its equipment may be damaged, but there is still hope of recovery next month.
