Bernd Körber, BMW's head of products, said that in addition to the Neue Klasse, BMW will also retain its native front-wheel drive and rear-wheel drive platforms as well as all power systems. This strategy will enable BMW to better adapt to the constantly changing market environment in the global electric vehicle market.

At present, we have already formulated our own strategy, Körber said, For us, the subsequent development is very unstable because it depends on regulations and customer demands, which has always been very clear.

In the foreseeable future, we will flexibly adopt the latest technologies and methods, and that is why we plan to manufacture different powertrains on one production line If the market suddenly shifts clearly in a certain direction, we don't have to close the factory or reduce shifts, just (switch the production line) to another powertrain.

Jochen Goller, BMW's head of sales, also added that our expectations for electric vehicles two years ago were too optimistic, and now they are too pessimistic, believing that the future mainstream trend will still be the growth brought by electric vehicles.
