CRRC's 100MW Wind Power Project in Suixi Sets World Record with 185-Meter Hybrid Tower

On August 3rd, the first 185-meter hybrid tower wind turbine of the 100MW wind power project in Le Min, Jianghong, Suixi (a county under the jurisdiction of Zhanjiang City, Guangdong Province) (hereinafter referred to as the Suixi project) was hoisted, and the hub center height is equivalent to that of a 60-story building. It not only refreshes the highest record of onshore wind turbine towers in the world, but also is the first anti-typhoon super-high tower wind power project in areas with frequent typhoons in the world.

The total installed capacity of the Suixi project reaches 100MW, with a total of 22 units, all of which adopt the doubly-fed wind turbine generator units specially designed by CRRC Zhuzhou Institute under the CRRC Group for areas with frequent typhoons.

It is introduced that the unit adopts a cast-in-place prestressed concrete tower + steel tube hybrid tower system. The lower concrete tower and the upper steel tower are connected through a concrete transition section and a steel tube transition section. The lower prestressed concrete tower is 85 meters high, and the upper steel tower is 97 meters high. The diameter of the impeller is 195 meters, and the swept area of the impeller is equivalent to 4.2 standard football fields. Each unit of the project can generate about 8.6 kWh of electricity when the impeller rotates one circle, and the annual power generation of the entire project can reach 320 million kWh.

In terms of application strategy, the unit further optimizes the SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) system, the health examination system, and the special environment adaptability monitoring and early warning design. While improving the control strategy and blade design, it also adds the electric blade lock function to ensure the smooth operation of the unit under the condition of changeable wind speed and direction, and at the same time ensure the safety of the unit when the typhoon strikes.

IT Home learned that hybrid tower means that the tower of the wind turbine generator unit is composed of both steel and concrete, and the lower part of the tower system is the concrete section and the upper part is the steel tower section. Hybrid tower wind turbine generator units have the following advantages:

The overall structural stiffness of the tower is greater, and it has obvious advantages in the application of high shear wind speed areas and low wind speed high tower scenarios, which can effectively reduce the operating amplitude of the unit during the whole life cycle;
