Northwestern Polytechnical University Releases eVTOL Aircraft

TapTechNews on June 20, TapTechNews learned from the official WeChat public account of the Western Transformation Center of Advanced Technology Achievements that Northwestern Polytechnical University released an eVTOL electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft, which is the first all-tilting rotor eVTOL aircraft in China that has completed the prototype flight test.

Problems such as traditional ground traffic congestion are becoming increasingly serious. Low-altitude economy and urban air traffic are the inevitable trends of the development of human society. According to the predictions of institutions such as MorganStanley and Deloitte, by 2040, the global scale of the eVTOL market will reach US $1 trillion (currently about 7.27 trillion yuan), of which 52% will be for freight logistics, 46% for urban passenger transport, and 3% will be applied to intercity navigation and special markets, and China is the market with the fastest growth, the largest scale, and the greatest demand.

Northwestern Polytechnical University has applied for relevant patents and software copyrights. This aircraft is currently in the product-level freight eVTOL research and development stage, and the official has not announced the appearance of this aircraft.

This aircraft can carry people, and has the following characteristics:

Clean energy: adopts all-electric power

Vertical takeoff and landing: no need for airport runways

High safety: It can still fly safely in the case of partial rotor failure

Low operating noise: The takeoff and landing noise is lower than the background noise of the city, far lower than the noise of the helicopter

High flight efficiency: The first three-wing and six-rotor all-tilting rotor aerodynamic layout is created, which is more energy-efficient
