BYD Becomes Copa América Partner and Considers Factory in Mexico

And in January this year, BYD officially announced that it became the official travel partner of the 2024 UEFA European Championship. By contrast, during the 2024 UEFA European Championship, BYD's new energy vehicles will serve as the official vehicles to provide green travel services for the event. The report pointed out that these auto companies mainly target the smaller, profitable, and easily accessible Latin American market rather than the United States.

Zou Zhou, the head of BYD Mexico, said in an interview that BYD is considering building a factory in Mexico. He said that overseas production is crucial, and Mexico is an important market with huge potential. BYD expects to select a site and construct a factory before the end of the year, and the production capacity of this factory will reach 150,000 vehicles per year.
