BAIC Blue Valley's Pure Electric Passenger Car Project Approved with 120,000 Annual Capacity
TapTechNews June 7th news, BAIC Blue Valley just released an announcement declaring that the pure electric passenger car project of Beijing New Energy Automobile Co., Ltd. has been approved for filing and has an annual production capacity of 120,000 units.
In 2023, according to the needs of production and operation, the subsidiary of BAIC Blue Valley New Energy Technology Co., Ltd., Beijing New Energy Automobile Co., Ltd., made changes to the construction project of the Beijing high-end intelligent ecological factory. The project construction site was relocated from Beijing Yizhuang Economic Development Zone to Beijing Miyun District. For specific details, please refer to the Announcement on the Change of the Construction Project of the Beijing High-end Intelligent Ecological Factory and Related Transactions disclosed on August 15, 2023 (Announcement No.: Lin 2023-058). Recently, Beijing New Energy Automobile Co., Ltd. received the Project Filing Certificate issued by the Beijing Municipal Development and Reform Commission (Beijing Development and Reform (Backup) [2024] 329). The project name of the Beijing high-end intelligent ecological factory project that has been approved for filing is the pure electric passenger car project of Beijing New Energy Automobile Co., Ltd., and the annual production capacity filed is 120,000 units. Currently, the project is progressing normally.
In May this year, the sales volume of Beijing New Energy Automobile reached 5,433 units, an increase of 33% year-on-year; the cumulative total for this year is 18,437 units, a cumulative decrease of 23.07% compared to the same period last year. By contrast, the sales volume of Beijing New Energy Automobile Co., Ltd. in April was 2,882 units.
Beijing New Energy Automobile Co., Ltd. has two brands, ArcFox and Beijing Automobile. Referring to the previous report of TapTechNews, the flagship car jointly created by BAIC Blue Valley and Huawei - the Enjoying World S9 will also be launched in early August this year, and the expected price of this car is $450,000 - $550,000. ArcFox has six models on sale: ArcFox Alpha T Forest Edition, ArcFox Alpha S Forest Edition, ArcFox Alpha S New HI Edition (in May 2023, the ArcFox Alpha S New HI Edition was upgraded to the ArcFox Alpha S Advance Edition), Kola, Alpha T5, Alpha S5.
BEIJING Automobile has EU7 and EU5 models on sale, and the latter was upgraded to EU5 Plus in August 2023.
