AppleIntelligence to potentially access Google's Gemini this autumn

TapTechNews July 1, it was reported that Apple's AppleIntelligence which was officially announced last month will reach a cooperation with OpenAI's ChatGPT. Since then, rumors about whether 'Apple-labeled AI' will reach a cooperation with other models and even which model will be adopted in China have continued to increase. Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman revealed in the latest issue of the PowerOn newsletter last Sunday that Apple will announce 'at least one other' agreement this autumn, and then AppleIntelligence is expected to have access to Google's Gemini.

It is reported that Apple's senior vice president Craig Federighi 'hinted' at the deal with Google shortly after the WWDC keynote address ended. Gurman added that even if it's not this autumn, Apple could still announce a deal with Google at some point. On the other hand, Meta's Llama chatbot was quickly rejected by Apple because it was 'not good enough'.

Gurman believes that Apple wants to make AI a directly profitable way, not just a bunch of features aimed at 'boosting' the development of hardware products. As part of this, he said that Apple 'could eventually' introduce a subscription-only model for Apple's intelligent functions. 'Although AppleIntelligence is free at the beginning, the (Apple's) long-term plan is to make money from these functions. Eventually, the company may launch a service like 'AppleIntelligence+', just like iCloud, where users pay an additional monthly fee for additional features.'

According to TapTechNews' earlier report today, Gurman also said that Apple plans to introduce AppleIntelligence features into the VisionPro headset, but will not introduce related functions into the HomePod speaker.
