For some vehicles within the scope of this recall, due to the damage to the oil seal caused during the assembly of the drive motor bearing, resulting in poor sealing, the engine oil inside the motor seeps out and forms a solid with carbon brush powder, and the accumulation causes a short circuit. After the vehicle detects abnormal current, it enters the protection mode to cut off the power supply, resulting in a power interruption during vehicle driving and posing a safety hazard.

Dongfeng Motor Co., Ltd. will replace the drive motor assembly for free for the vehicles within the scope of the recall to eliminate potential safety hazards.

TapTechNews note: The State Administration for Market Regulation has released multiple vehicle recall announcements today, involving brands such as Kia and Mercedes-Benz, covering a number of joint venture and imported models.
