Tesla China rehires some laid-off employees

TapTechNews June 27th news, according to Interface News, a small number of departments in Tesla China are rehiring some laid-off employees, and most of them are concentrated in the sales and service fields.

According to TapTechNews' previous report, on April 15th, Elon Musk sent an all-hands email stating that Tesla would reduce its global staff by 10%. Since then, informed sources revealed that the layoff ratio in Tesla China is far more than the 10% mentioned by Musk, and the sales department is a hard-hit area. Last week, it was exposed that Tesla's layoffs this year have exceeded 14%, and the global number of employees has decreased to about 121,000.

A former employee in the Tesla sales system said that for some supermarket stores with a larger layoff intensity, only a team of 5 to 6 people is retained, which is not conducive to the normal operation of the store. Usually, the number of Tesla supermarket store employees should be around 8 to 9 people.

It is reported that for this rehiring, some of the laid-off Tesla China employees have little interest. Some of the Tesla China sales who were affected in the layoff action have entered other domestic new energy brands and started new jobs.

The blogger @Fat Tiger Shawn爆料称 that the rehired employees have to return N+3, and in addition, Tesla has started to recruit in the sales and service fields.

This is not the first time Tesla has rehired laid-off employees. In May this year, not long after Tesla CEO Elon Musk fired nearly 500 employees in the supercharging station team, Tesla rehired some of them again, including North American charging business director Max DeZieger.
