Kia Launches New EV6 Model in South Korea

TapTechNews May 14th news, Kia has launched the new Kia EV6 model in South Korea, offering Light, Air, Earth, and GT-Line versions, with a guide price of 55.4~70.1 million Korean won (approximately $29,300~37,100 TapTechNews note: current conversion to RMB).

As a mid-term facelift model, the new car has been updated and optimized in terms of exterior, interior, configuration, and range, and will be launched overseas this year. For reference, the current Kia EV6 has 4 models available in the Chinese market, with prices ranging from 282,800 to 439,800 yuan.

In terms of exterior, the new car has been upgraded for the front face, including a completely new headlight design, with the grille adopting a classic tiger growl styling and a flattened design. In addition, the new car also offers 10 car paint colors and 5 interior color options.

Furthermore, the car features hidden door handles paired with new 19-inch and 20-inch wheels, with different wheel styles for the standard and GT-Line models. The standard version features black wheel arches in a different color from the body, while the GT-Line version is designed in the same color as the body.

In terms of interior, the new car mainly retains the design style of the current model, with slight adjustments in details, including a full LCD instrument panel and center console multimedia display, double-spoke steering wheel; the center console is equipped with a through-type air conditioning vent and retains some physical function buttons, as well as a knob-style electronic shift mechanism. In terms of configuration, the new car adds wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto, supports keyless start, streaming rearview mirror, upgrades head-up display, and AR navigation system.

In terms of powertrain, the new car will offer two power versions, single motor and dual motor, with the rear single motor having a maximum power of 168 kW and peak torque of 350 Nm; the dual-motor all-wheel-drive version has a combined power of 239 kW and peak torque of 605 Nm.

In terms of range, the new car has upgraded to an 84 kWh battery (same as the Ioniq 5), with a range of 494 kilometers for the single-motor version, and the new car also supports 350 kW DC fast charging, capable of charging from 10-80% in 18 minutes.
