In the lawsuit, Amazon stated that Nokia misused the relevant technologies of Amazon Web Services (AWS), including technologies in cloud computing infrastructure, security and performance, to strengthen its own cloud service products. Nokia, in a statement, said it will review these matters and defend its rights strongly in court.

The complaint alleges that Amazon launched AWS in 2006, and its pioneering cloud computing technology began to be developed as early as the early 2000s. Amazon said Nokia entered the cloud computing industry in 2020 after withdrawing from the mobile device business and turning to other areas in 2014.

Amazon is a pioneer in the field of cloud computing, and now Nokia is using Amazon's patented cloud computing innovation results without permission, the complaint reads.

Amazon is asking the court to issue an injunction to stop Nokia's alleged infringement and is asking Nokia to compensate an undisclosed amount.

TapTechNews noted that Nokia filed a patent lawsuit against Amazon's video streaming technology in several countries last year.
