Hangzhou-Wenzhou High-Speed Railway to Open in Early September

TapTechNews August 29th news, Baisheng and Hangzhou-Wenzhou Railway Co., Ltd. announced today that as a national pilot project for mixed ownership reform and a demonstration project for social capital investment, The Hangzhou-Wenzhou High-Speed Railway is planned to be officially opened in early September.

According to the official information queried by TapTechNews, the Hangzhou-Wenzhou High-Speed Railway starts from Tonglu East Station in Hangzhou, Zhejiang, passes through Jinhua City and Taizhou City to Wenzhou City, and is introduced into the reconstructed Wenzhou South Station. The total length of the line is 260 kilometers, with a designed speed of 350 kilometers per hour. There are 9 stations along the whole line, including Tonglu East, Pujiang, Yiwu, Hengdian, Pan'an, Xianju, Nanxi River, Wenzhou North, and Wenzhou South.

The Hangzhou-Wenzhou High-Speed Railway is constructed in two phases. The first phase is the Yiwu-Wenzhou section, which started full-scale construction in June 2020; the second phase is the Hangzhou-Yiwu section, which started full-scale construction in September 2021. After the whole line is completed, it will take about 1 hour from Hangzhou to Wenzhou.

On July 30, the National Railway Group announced that the newly built Hangzhou-Wenzhou high-speed railway officially entered the trial operation stage, and the full opening and operation of the whole line entered the countdown.
