Chinese Police Crack Down on Cross-Border Telecom Fraud

TapTechNews reported on June 26 that as of today's CCTV News report, in order to severely crack down on cross-border telecommunication network fraud crimes in accordance with the law, the Ministry of Public Security organized and directed public security organs in Liaoning and other places to go to Vietnam for international police law enforcement cooperation, and successfully caught 19 Chinese criminal suspects who carried out cross-border telecommunication network fraud. Currently, the 19 criminal suspects and the items involved have been transferred to our side through the Dongxing port in Guangxi.

In the work of our public security organs, it was found through research and judgment that there were clues of criminal dens for cross-border telecommunication network fraud against our citizens hiding in Vietnam. The Vietnamese police dispatched police forces according to the clues provided by us, completely eradicated 5 criminal dens of telecommunication network fraud that were entrenched in Ho Chi Minh City, and caught 19 Chinese criminal suspects of telecommunication network fraud, and a batch of criminal tools such as computers and mobile phones were seized on the spot.

At present, the Vietnamese police have transferred to our side the 19 criminal suspects and the items involved through the Dongxing port in Guangxi, and the Ministry of Public Security has deployed the public security organs in Liaoning to escort the criminal suspects back and make every effort to carry out case investigation work.

In addition to Vietnam, as TapTechNews reported earlier, China's concentrated crackdown on illegal and criminal activities related to telecommunication fraud in northern Myanmar in 2023 has achieved results, catching 78 core members of the fraud group and 41,000 criminal suspects, and freezing a cumulative total of 3.5 billion yuan ($0.51 billion) of the involved funds.
