Honor's New AI Technology Announced at 2024 MWC Shanghai
TapTechNews June 26th, at the Mobile World Congress Shanghai (2024 MWC Shanghai) on June 26th, Zhao Ming, the CEO of Honor Terminal Co., Ltd., delivered a keynote speech and announced the AI defocus eye protection technology.
According to Zhao Ming, the new AI eye protection technology brought by Honor combines the terminal-side AI with the screen and can make the mobile phone screen turn into a defocus lens according to the user's eye usage environment and habits. Laboratory data shows that after users read with the screen equipped with AI defocus eye protection technology for 25 minutes, the temporary myopia index is reduced by an average of 13 degrees, and the highest reduction is 75 degrees.
Honor has been deeply engaged in the field of eye protection technology. At the end of last year, Honor established the Oasis Eye Protection Laboratory and announced that it will invest more than 1 billion RMB in R&D expenses in the next 3 years, adhere to the new research direction of humanization, specialization, and standardization, and cooperate with industrial chain partners such as TÜV Rheinland, BOE, Visionox, and Tianma to jointly build a benchmark for healthy display.
Currently, Honor's new products such as mobile phones and PCs have all been equipped with Oasis eye protection screen technology. The Honor 200 series released in May also pioneered the AI personalized sleep aid display function in the industry, which can help users sleep comfortably by learning sleep habits, identifying sleep intentions, and distinguishing time and space scenarios through AI.
In the keynote speech, Zhao Ming also announced the terminal-side AI anti-fraud detection technology AI face swap detection. According to the introduction, through the terminal-side AI ability, this technology can independently identify the screen elements in the user's video call. If it is detected that there is AI face swapping in the video content, a risk reminder will be sent to the user.
