This time, Goro Miyazaki revealed his father Hayao Miyazaki's next goal - he is currently working on a creative project.

Goro Miyazaki disclosed, It would be too boring to only make movies from the past! So I asked him to make the next work, and it's currently in the works. The Boy and the Heron has previously been officially announced to be introduced to the Chinese mainland and won the 96th Academy Award for Best Animated Feature Film this year. It has also won many world-class film awards such as the 81st Golden Globe Award for Best Animated Film before. This is Hayao Miyazaki's second win of the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature Film after 21 years since he won with Spirited Away in 2003.

According to TapTechNews' previous report, The Boy and the Heron was officially released in Japan on July 14th, 2023, and later successively landed in North America, Hong Kong and Taiwan regions, etc., and the translation was changed to The Heron and the Boy. The length of The Heron and the Boy is 124 minutes. It tells the story of a young boy named Makoto who lost his mother after World War II and encountered a talking blue heron, embarking on an incredible adventure journey. The film still adopts the hand-drawn style that the audience is familiar with, which is also the iconic painting style of Hayao Miyazaki's works.
