Couple Trapped in Sand Pit in Golmud Rescued by Fire Department

TapTechNews August 10th news, according to the Qinghai fire department disclosure, at 7:05 PM on August 7th, the Golmud City Fire Rescue Detachment received an alarm that a couple driving an off-road vehicle got stuck in a sand pit near Xiaokusai Lake in Golmud City and requested fire rescue. Their family members had already been in a state of lost contact when assisting in reporting the alarm, and 12 hours had passed since the incident.

TapTechNews learned that at 8 AM on August 8th, the fire department received a satellite phone call from the trapped people and obtained the precise location coordinates of the trapped. Under the guidance of the public security and local guides, after nearly two and a half hours of off-road driving, at an altitude of 4570 meters on the east side of Xiaokusai Lake, the trapped people and vehicles were found.

After arriving at the scene, the rescuers provided oxygen and warm clothing to the trapped people at the first time, confirmed that the vital signs of the two trapped people were still good, and contacted the medical staff to wait near the Yeniugou Tourist Distribution Center.

At 12:25 PM on August 8th, the trapped vehicle was successfully freed. After reaching Yeniugou, the medical staff examined the bodies of the two trapped people. After a short rest, the rescuers escorted the trapped people and vehicles back to the Golmud urban area.
